“A book, too, can be a star, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.” — A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle
This month, we’re celebrating another of our favorite readers! Tor Teen readers have mad skills, take incredible pictures and videos, and are the boldest of book champions. Last month we chatted Super Space Chick, and this month we’re celebrating a dynamic duo of Tor Teen readers! ❤❤

What they’re all about:
What Tor Teen release are you most excited for this year?
Alexa: I’m looking forward to reading Sightwitch! It’s going to be interesting to see the mixed media format and read from another character’s perspective. I’m also highly anticipating The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout, since I loved the original Lux series a lot.
Macky: One of my most anticipated releases coming out from Starscape (not quite Tor Teen, I know, but please forgive me) is Death Goddess Dance by Levi Black. Because Eldritch horror, strong female leads and messing with elder gods.
Editor’s note: Sorry Macky, it’s not coming out til 2019 (from our pals at Tor), but there are many great books with a strong female leads coming in between to tide you over.
I’m really curious about Ryber’s story, so I’m pretty grateful to have this copy of SIGHTWITCH in my hands. It’s out tomorrow, so you won’t have to wait long to get it too! Thanks for the copy @torteen! . . . #Bookstagram #instabooks #bibliophile #bookphotography #bookaddict #booknerd #reading #bookworm #igreads #bookgram #bookstagramfeature #thewitchlands #susandennard #sightwitch
What was your favorite book at 15?
Alexa: My favorite book at the time was a toss-up between Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (my favorite of the series still) and Ransom (my favorite historical romance novel and one of the first I ever read).
Macky: The Animorphs series.
What got you into vlogging and booktube? (and how long have you been doing it?)
Alexa: I started uploading videos as a supplemental sort of thing that I did in addition to maintaining my blog. It was mostly for hauls, though I also did a few fun things and author interviews. It turned into a more regular, separate thing in 2016 as I got more consistent about posting and content in a video format and Macky officially joined me in 2017. So, for me, it’s been about 4 years!
Macky: The wife, and her awesome ways.
What’s your favorite bookstagram prop?
Alexa: I love finding things to use for backdrops, and I’m particularly fond of scarves and blankets. I also love putting candles in my photos since I’m such a big candle collector!
What’s one YA trope you can’t get enough of?
Alexa: Just one? *whimpers* Well, if I can only really pick one, I’ll say that I’m a sucker for stories that feature found families (particularly with groups of friends).
Macky: Me and my friends save the world. (Alexa’s Note: I knew he was going to say this!)
